1. Save the full notice or order, including the court name, cause number, scheduled date and any instructions. Keep the original email or envelope too.
2. For a family matter, bring existing parenting orders, a proposed schedule and a short list of financial or household issues that need attention.
3. For an estate or inheritance question, gather any will, death certificate, family information, property documents and the number of an existing probate case.
4. Before a court visit, confirm the exact building and appearance instructions on the current notice. The firm's LBJ Drive office is separate from county facilities.
